Conemaugh School of Nursing Ranked 5th Among Pennsylvania Nursing Programs by Nursing Schools Almanac

September 20, 2021

Nursing Schools Almanac has released its 2021 rankings of the best nursing programs in Pennsylvania and Conemaugh School of Nursing ranked fifth among registered nursing (RN) diploma programs in the state.

The ranking, which is new in 2021, ranks student performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Aspiring registered nurses in the United States must pass this examination before they may practice. Conemaugh School of Nursing graduates registered a 90.8% first-time NCLEX pass rate between 2010 and 2020.

"We are honored to be ranked among the top five diploma nursing programs in our state and immensely proud of our students for consistently demonstrating such a high level of academic excellence," said Conemaugh School of Nursing Director Dr. Bonnie M. Mazurak-Riga, DNP, MBA, RN. "Our instructors work tirelessly to provide the training, mentorship, support, advice, and clinical experience that our students need to pass the NCLEX exam and thrive in their careers as nurses."

The Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing was founded in 1896 following the establishment of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in 1892. The school has long been accredited by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing. The program has graduated more than 4,165 students since its founding and is actively recruiting the next generation of nurses. To learn more, visit Conemaugh.org/SON.
