HFW Advises Banks on Financing of World's Largest LNG-Fuelled Container Vessels

Global, sector-focused law firm HFW is advising a group of banks on the financing and completion of nine state-of-the-art LNG-fuelled containerships for French shipping company CMA CGM.

At 23,000 TEU, the vessels are currently the world's largest LNG-fuelled container ships, measuring 400 metres in length.

CMA CGM launched the project in 2018 and now has eight 23,000 TEU vessels deployed on its service linking China to the Northern European ports. The eighth and latest vessel, the CMA CGM TROCADERO, joined the fleet on 26 May 2021.

HFW's Paris office has been advising the banks on the project since its inception in 2018. The firm's team is led by Jean-Marc Zampa and also includes Olivier Challine and Frédéric de Foucault.
