Make it big and glow these school holidays

Book your places now for the many activities on offer in the Upper Hunter Shire during the April school holidays.

There will be art workshops, glow run fun, gymnastics and tennis camps, arts and crafts at the libraries, activities at the Youth Centres and a packed SOOSH program.

All the details are included in the Upper Hunter Shire Council 'What's On' guide to all the great activities available during the school holidays.

Young people aged ten to 18 years are invited to attend a fun 'Make It Big' art workshop in Scone over two days, 23 and 24 April 2018.

No special experience or skills are needed for youth to take part in constructing horse sculptures from recycled materials, just RSVP by Friday 20 April 2018 by downloading a booking form.

This initiative from Upper Hunter Youth Council will be an interactive event designed to get young people feeling confident about creating their own art.

The workshop will be run by professional artist, Ken O'Regan who has created may successful workshops for children that combine not only art, but education with waste reduction and a recycling message.

Participants of this project will have their artworks exhibited during the Scone Horse Festival in May.

Youth will be able to get their glow on for Youth Week on 24 April 2018 at the FREE glow run in Wilson Memorial Oval and Murrurundi Youth Centre. There will be music under the black lights (which brings out the glow colour), a selfie tent and Murrurundi Lions Club will be selling a BBQ plus a coffee cart will be on site.

Buses will be running from Aberdeen and Merriwa to Murrurundi, with pick ups at Bunnan, Aberdeen, Scone, Parkville, Wingen and Blandford.
