Ooredoo Takes Most Socially Responsible Telecom Company Title at the International Finance Awards

Putting the community first, Ooredoo was recently named Most Socially Responsible Telecom Company - Oman, at the 2021 International Finance Awards. It's a welcome acknowledgement of Ooredoo's ongoing commitment to support sustainable development across the country by promoting women's economic empowerment, education. entrepreneurship and helping those in need. In the last year and half, it has doubled down on its efforts, helping the community mitigate the impact of COVID-19 with a series of donations, an SMS donation service, as well as moving some of its development programmes online.

As a mainstay of Ooredoo's promise to enrich people's lives, its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Goodwill, has directly benefited thousands of individuals and families over more than 16 years. Among its award-winning initiatives are the Sultanate's first ever women's incubator programme; Springboard and Spring Forward, which aim to train men and women in digital entrepreneurship and leadership; and its education programme, Fursa. Earlier this year, Ooredoo also earned a Gold Stevie Award for its project building sensory rooms for social welfare centres across Oman.
