The Morningside and Cameron Toll stores have donated high visibility vests to a local primary school and a children's nursery to coincide with Road Safety Week (16-22 Nov).
A donation of 60 high-vis vests was made to St Mark's RC Primary School and Carebears Children's Nursery, both based in Edinburgh.
As the shortest day of the year approaches, the high-vis vests will help youngsters stay safe on dark mornings and evenings, when walking to and from school.
A word from the store director
Joe Alubaid, retail director at both Specsavers Morningside and Specsavers Cameron Toll, says: 'We're proud to have teamed up with road safety charity Brake to try and make our roads safer. With the days getting darker, these vests will help make sure our local community's children are more visible and safer when they are out on the roads.'
Thanks from the nursery
Vicky Currie, nursery manager at Carebears Nursery, says: 'We want to give a big thanks to Specsavers for their kind donation. The hi-vis vests are especially welcome at this time of year as we move into the darker winter months. They will ensure that children that wear them are extra visible as they make their way to and from nursery.'
