New Jersey's Own Greg Gianforte Launches Second Campaign to Attack Montana's Public Lands

HELENA -- New Jersey multimillionaire Greg Gianforte and failed candidate for governor is launching another bid to undermine Montanans' access to cherished public lands.

Gianforte has spent his time in Montana suingthe people of Montana to block public stream access and fencing off public access near his property. He also hinted that he would be open to transferring public lands to the state in the future.

'Greg Gianforte isn't from Montana and he's not for Montana. He doesn't understand how important public access is to our way of life,' said Nancy Keenan, exective director for the Montana Democratic Party. 'Montana needs its voice in the U.S. House to stand up for our public lands, and Greg Gianforte has made it clear over-and-over that he won't look out for us.'

Gianforte also donated thousands of dollarsto groups including Americans for Prosperity and the Property and Environment Research Center (PERC) that want to transfer federal lands to the state and undo Montana's stream access laws.

Rob Quist rallied with Montana sportsmen and women in Helena earlier today, promising to fight against any attempts to sell of Montana's public lands and take away Montanans' way of life.
