Carrie Charley named new associate vice president for Campus Services

APRIL 16, 2024 - Carrie Charley recently joined UTSA Business Affairs as the new associate vice president for Campus Services. Charley brings over 20 years of higher education leadership experience to UTSA, including extensive experience managing campus auxiliary services.

In her role, Charley oversees operations for all areas of UTSA Campus Services, which comprises key university resources and auxiliary services including parking, transportation, UTSACard administration, meal plans and housing facilities, as well as contracted services for dining, vending and the Rowdy Campus Store.

"Carrie is a great addition to the Administration and Operations team and we are so excited for her to lead Campus Services," said Mary Hernandez, senior associate vice president for Administration and Operations. "Her professional background and extensive knowledge base of campus services operations makes her perfect for this role, and her energy, creativity and history as an innovator makes her perfect for UTSA."

Prior to joining the university, Charley served as the interim vice president of Student Affairs and assistant vice president of Campus Living, Dining and Auxiliary Services at Stephen F. Austin State University. Over the course of her career, she has also served in leadership roles for auxiliary services at Boston University and Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as at The University of Texas at Dallas.

Charley has a consistent record of providing strong leadership that supports institutional growth, milestone achievement and change management, and has herself received accolades including Food Management Magazine's 2016 College and University Innovator of the Year.

Over the years, Charley has also served as an instructor, advisor and advocate for students in her roles creating and facilitating programming that provides student support related to an array of topics critical for a safe and successful campus experience.

"With student success being one of our top priorities, I knew that UTSA was the ideal place for me to contribute my knowledge and experience in the delivery of campus services," said Charley. "Together with our talented Campus Services team, I hope to implement bold ideas and initiatives aimed to elevate the campus experience for all Roadrunners."

Charley holds a Master of Education from Ohio University and a Certified Auxiliary Services Professional Certification (CASP) from the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS).
