The notable Italian pianist and composer Orazio Sciortino will offer the virtual concert 'The image resonates - Music in the cinema', this Sunday, April 25, at 4 pm. m., which can be enjoyed by the public through the Facebook Like of the PETROPERÚ Cultural Center.

In the free access show, presented by PETROPERÚ and the Lima Philharmonic Society, Orazio Sciortino will perform the soundtrack of three important silent films: A Straightforward Boy (1929), L'Etoile de mer de Man Ray (1928) and L'Assassinat du duc de Guise (1908), which highlight three different relationships between sound and image.

During the gala, Orazio Sciortino will perform Francis Poulenc's selection of piano compositions that were part of the film A Straightforward Boy, directed by YasujirÅ Ozu. Orazio Sciortino collaborates with important musical institutions such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, La Fenice Theater Orchestra, Ravello Festival, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Verona Philharmonic Academy, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, I Pomeriggi Musicali, among others. Commissioned by the Spinola Banna Foundation for Art, in 2016 he presented the short opera MeetHer, based on the composer's libretto, and recently composed Sol Invictus for choir and orchestra for the Teatro Lirico de Cagliari.
