DEAG expands vertical value chain and acquires majority stake in Hans Boehlke Elektroinstallationen GmbH

Berlin, 01 December 2021 - DEAG Deutsche Entertainment Aktiengesellschaft ("DEAG") is acquiring a 51% majority stake in Hans Boehlke Elektroinstallationen GmbH ("Hans Boehlke") through its wholly owned subsidiary Christmas Garden Deutschland GmbH. The company is successful in the field of illumination and multimedia design and offers services such as trade fair and outdoor advertising lighting, indoor and outdoor lighting concepts, lighting installations for festivals, shops, events and shopping centres as well as Christmas lighting for municipal urban areas. With its investment in Hans Boehlke Elektroinstallationen GmbH, DEAG is significantly expanding its activities in the area of technology and lighting production. Andreas Boehlke, Managing Director of Hans Boehlke, will remain a shareholder and continue to manage the company on a long-term basis.

DEAG and Hans Boehlke Elektroinstallationen GmbH have enjoyed a close and trusting working relationship for many years. The company has been a close service partner for the "Christmas Garden" event format since 2016. Andreas Boehlke is responsible for the implementation of the production at all locations in Germany and abroad. The event format, which was established in 2014, was expanded from six to 18 locations in the 2021/2022 season, ten of which are in Germany and eight in other European countries. An extensive hygiene concept, in which the respective corona protection ordinances of the federal states are implemented and in some cases even exceeded, guarantees a calm and contemplative course of the event. This concept includes, among other measures, controlled and limited visitor numbers to avoid crowds and ensure spacing, as well as compliance with 2G rules. A one-way procedure on the creatively designed circular routes as well as personalised and digital ticketing also ensure a safe event concept. DEAG is experiencing strong demand and very good advance sales in Germany and abroad. Especially at the locations in other European countries, the advance sales figures are significantly above the company's own expectations.

"Andreas Boehlke and his team have become close and reliable partners in the five years we have worked together to establish the Christmas Garden events, contributing a great deal to their success with their professionalism and know-how. Because of the many points of contact, we achieve high, mutual synergy effects beyond the 'Christmas Garden' productions, as in the concert and tour business. We are looking forward to further and even closer cooperation and want to expand this, among other places, in the area of lighting production in the concert sector as well as to other and new DEAG formats, such as the Potsdamer Schlössernacht," commented Christian Diekmann, member of the Executive Board of DEAG.

As Andreas Boehlke, Managing Director of Hans Boehlke Elektroinstallationen GmbH, adds: "We have already worked successfully and cooperatively with DEAG for many years. DEAG's investment in our company is a milestone in our corporate history. With DEAG, we have a strong partner at our side with whom we will take advantage of new growth opportunities. I look forward to further cooperation and am convinced that we will benefit from each other in the long term."
