Biden Continues Restrictions, Months After Declaring Independence From COVID

Today, President Joe Biden announced an extension of his mask mandate on public transportation and a new testing requirement for people traveling internationally.

"In July, President Biden declared America free from COVID. Now, instead of letting Americans make their own choices, Biden continues to pursue mandates and impose restrictions on Americans. It has been nearly two years since the pandemic began in America and it is long past time for the Biden Administration to let families decide what is best for them," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Continuing to impose restrictions on Americans after declaring the country free from COVID is another one of the Biden Administration's reversals on COVID. In late July, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said a vaccine mandate was "not the role of the federal government." However, weeks later, in early September, the Biden Administration announced a vaccine mandate. Congressman Moolenaar opposes that mandate and has introduced the No Vaccine Mandate Act to block funding for the enforcement of it.
