South Dakota Farmers Union Launches 2024 Photo Contest: Celebrating Life on the Family Farm & Ranch

South Dakota Farmers Union (SDFU) hosts its annual photo contest, Celebrating Life on the Family Farm & Ranch May 1 - July 31, 2024.

"Agriculture is our state's No. 1 industry. This photo contest celebrates the families who do the work," explained Karla Hofhenke, SDFU Executive Director.

Photographers are invited to submit photos related to this year's theme "In Their Element."

The images should showcase a farmer or rancher engaged in their work environment on the farm, in the fields, or on the ranch. Entries will be evaluated based on how well they capture the essence of the category.

Qualifying entries will be judged, and the photographer of the winning photograph will receive $250.
