Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) has been selected by Clarivate Analytics as one of the Derwent Top 100 Global Innovators 2021. It is the sixth straight year since fiscal 2015 that we have received this award.

Based on patent data held by Clarivate Analytics, a global information services company, it analyzes intellectual property and patent trends, and selects the 100 most innovative companies and institutions in the world. Four criteria are used to evaluate the award: quantity, success rate, globalization, and influence. Among these criteria, we received a particularly high evaluation for 'influence,' which indicates the frequency with which patents are cited among inventions of other companies.

In keeping with its founding spirit of 'Technological Innovation', the company is pursuing research and development with particular emphasis on world-first and world firsts. In fiscal 2021, the Yaskawa Technology Center will be opened next to the headquarter building as a research and development base that integrates all phases from development and prototyping to production line construction.

We aim to develop more competitive products by establishing a development system that can respond quickly to customer needs and by promoting open innovation.
