17-Year-Old Stabbed after physical domestic incident in Mattydale

On Monday, September 16, 2019, at approximately 4:40 P.M. the Onondaga County 911 received a report that a 17-year-old female had been stabbed multiple times during a domestic dispute at 116 Roxboro Circle in Mattydale. It was reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot and the victim was in need of medical attention. An off duty Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy was in the vicinity of the stabbing and observed a male changing his clothes in the parking lot of the Byrne Dairy on Route 11 in Mattydale. Deputies approached the subject and positively identified him as the suspect, James H. Ellis. The subsequent investigation revealed that Ellis was involved in a physical domestic at 116 Roxboro Circle with two females. The first female, a 17-year-old female, was transported to Upstate University Hospital with stabs wounds which were not life-threatening. The second female, a 41-year-old was threatened with a knife and choked. She was treated at the scene.
James H. Ellis, age 29 from Salina, NY was charged with Assault 2nd degree (class 'D' felony), (2) counts of Menacing 2nd degree (class 'A' misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of a weapon 4thdegree (class 'A' misdemeanor)and (2) counts of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (class 'A' misdemeanor). He was processed at SP North Syracuse and transported to the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office for centralized arraignment. State Police was assisted at the scene by the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.
