In July, the unemployment rate stood at 6.6% and the labour underutilisation rate at 12.5%

Summary

June 2021:
• The employed population has increased by 0.5% from the previous month, by 2.1% from three months before and by 4.7% from the same month of 2020.
• The unemployed population has decreased from by 2.5% from the previous month, increased by 5.5% from three months before and decreased by 5.3% from June 2020.
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.8%, down 0.2 percentage points (pp) from the previous month, up 0.2 pp from three months before and down 0.7 pp from a year earlier.
• The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 12.8%, as in the previous month and down 0.1 pp from three months before and down 2.9 pp from June 2020.

July 2021:
• The employed population recorded an increase of 0.8% from the previous month, of 2.7% from three months before and of 5.2% from the same month of 2020.
• The unemployed population has decreased from the three comparison periods: by 3.3%, 3.7% and 15.7%, respectively.
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.6%, down 0.2 pp from the previous month, down 0.4 pp from three months before and down 1.5 pp from July 2020.
• The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 12.5%, down 0.3 pp from June 2021, down 0.4 pp from April 2021 and down 3.2 pp from July 2020.
