Celebrated Interior Designer Sophie Paterson creates Savills Salon at Masterpiece London

Masterpiece London, which takes place at the Royal Hospital Chelsea offers collectors an incredible opportunity to acquire the finest works of art, design, furniture and jewellery - from antiquity to the present day and will run from 30th June - 6thJuly.

The Savills Salon will be a place for visitors to come and meet the Savills expert team, to take time out from the busy fair and relax in a beautifully interior designed space.

Sophie Paterson Interiors have worked on some of the most high profile schemes in London, including Chelsea Barracks as well as countless prestigious private homes across the capital. The studio is renowned for luxury interiors that stand the test of time.

Of her design for the Savills Salon, Sophie Paterson says, 'We wanted to create an oasis in the middle of Masterpiece, a salon that would at once feel welcoming, calming, luxurious and exclusive. A respite from the bustle of masterpiece that draws people in.'.

Sophie goes on to explain, 'The design combines cutting edge contemporary pieces such as the marble and bronze dining table by Tom Faulkner, design icons such as the oak chandelier by Cox London, and beautiful craftsmanship such as the hand painted and embroidered silk wallpaper by Fromental.

'The blend of contemporary design with curated antiques is timeless but also very on trend with its sustainable application. All the furniture pieces that have been manufactured for the salon are being manufactured in Britain ensuring that they have a minimal carbon footprint.'

'The oak leaf that wraps across the walls and is echoed in the chandeliers is an iconic symbol associated with British heritage and feels very at home in the Chelsea Hospital setting, which is surrounded by great ancient oaks. We wanted to reference Savills British origins and have reflected its current day global reach with this internationally influenced design scheme that would feel equally at home in a London townhouse, country estate or a villa in the Mediterranean. It's a testament to British design and craftsmanship but with a global application.'

Jonathan Hewlett, Savills head of London residential, says, 'We are thrilled to be working with Sophie Paterson Interiors on the Savills Salon, in what will be our ninth year of being Masterpiece London's property partner. The Savills team are excited to have such a beautiful space in which to welcome guests, friends and colleagues. Sophie's design and curation, which reflect both the historic location of the Royal Hospital and Savills heritage will be a brilliant showcase for Savills return to Masterpiece London.'
