New acid attack report, police seeking tips in the case

The victim has reported another similar incident this morning, June 28, with a person who appears to be the same suspect. This occurred around 5:30 a.m. She reported she had opened her door to the outside and an unknown suspect threw acid on her. She was transported to a local hospital by Eugene Springfield Fire for treatment of chemical burns. This incident is open and under active investigation.

The first reported incident occurred on March 28, 2022, where the victim was out walking her dog and reportedly had an unknown attacker throw a cup full of acid on her. She was transported to the hospital with burn injuries. The attacker was described as a white male in his early 20s wearing dark or black clothing and a face mask.

On April 26, 2022, the victim called 911 to report an unknown person jiggling the door handle and attempting to open the door to her residence. The victim was able to partially observe the person and believed it to be the same attacker from the incident in March.

On June 19, 2022, the victim called 911 to report that a male had broken into her residence, poured a chemical on her and lit her on fire. She was able to put out the flames using a sandal and was treated for burns at the hospital and released. She described the suspect as being the same as in the other encounters.

An incident that initially went unreported, but was reported during the March 28 investigation, occurred sometime in November 2021, where the victim reported an unknown attacker threw a cup full of glass shards on her while she was walking her dog. She sustained cuts and other minor injuries.

All incidents remain open and are actively being investigated. Based on information provided by the victim, the same suspect is possibly involved in all the cases. During the incident that occurred on March 28 and the incident that occurred on June 28, the victim reported the suspect made statements about their ethnicity.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 17-20, with dirty blond hair and last seen wearing black pants, black, pulled-up hoodie, dark-colored boots/shoes. The victim did not get a good look at the suspect's face due to the darkness, but he may have had freckles.

Police are seeking any relevant tips that may help investigators. Please call 541.682.5569, Detective Glenn Gilhuber, and refer to case 22-04892 or 22-09739.
