Number of Trains Operated on New Land-Sea Trade Corridor in China’s Western Region Increases by 112% YoY

In the first half of this year, 2,705 trains (carrying 269,000 TEUs) were operated on new land-sea trade corridor in China's western region, with a year-on-year growth of 112% (319%), providing strong support for the domestic and international dual circulations.

The corridor is located in the hinterland of China's western region, connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt in the north and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in the south. Concerted with the Yangtze River Economic Belt, it has an important strategic position incoordinating regional development and promoting international and domestic dual circulations. In recent years, the corridor has played an important role in the joint development of the Belt and Road and promoting the formation of a new pattern for the western development strategy in the new era. At present, '13 + 1' provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities have joined the co-construction of the corridor.
