RIP, Jody Price

We are incredibly saddened to report that Kyle Elementary School fifth grade teacher Jody Price passed away yesterday after an extended illness.

Mrs. Price was beloved by all the students she taught at Kyle, Forest, Cookson and the Troy Online Academy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Price and her loved ones.

Below is the message Kyle principal Matt Dillon sent out to the school families:

Kyle Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that Ms. Jody Price, Kyle Elementary 5th Grade Teacher, died yesterday evening after an extended illness. Ms. Price was a beloved teacher who held positions at Forest, Cookson, Troy Online Academy, and Kyle Elementary Schools. Ms. Price had been battling illness for some time, and she was determined to start the school year with her students. We are proud of the example Ms. Price leaves her students.

Kyle Elementary will have certified school counselors on site to meet with any students who need to process their feelings. Mrs. Dana Davis, Kyle School Counselor, and I met with 5th grade students to process the loss this morning.

Death impacts every person in a unique way, and it is our goal to provide support to our students and their families. Ms. Debbite Barkett, retired Kyle teacher, will continue to serve as the long-term substitute in 5th grade. We are grateful to Ms. Barkett for stepping in during this truly difficult time.

Please do not hesitate to contact our counseling office if your child or family needs additional support. Ms. Dana Davis, Kyle School Counselor, can be reached at 937-332-6770 or via email, [email protected].

We appreciate your support as we grieve the loss of Ms. Price.

Sincerely,

Matt Dillon

Principal
