LAS VEGAS-Boyd Gamingis celebrating the season of giving with its fifth annual tree-decorating competition, Trees of Hope. A total of 35 local charities will compete in one of Las Vegas' favorite holiday traditions, as Boyd Gaming awards a prize pool of $45,000 to this year's participants.
Established more than a decade ago at Boyd Gaming's Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Vinton, La., Trees of Hope is a nationwide tree-decorating competition, benefitting nonprofit organizations in communities served by Boyd Gaming.
On Monday, Nov. 25, participating charities will decorate their trees at seven Boyd Gaming destinations: Aliante, Cannery, Eastside Cannery, Gold Coast, Main Street Station, Suncoast and The Orleans. Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Dec. 15, the public is invited to visit each participating destinations and vote for their favorite charity's decorated tree. The seven Las Vegas properties will each award a $5,500 prize pool to participating charities, with a first-place prize of $2,000 and a guaranteed minimum cash prize of $500 for all participants. Winners will be decided by public vote at each destination. A Boyd Gaming player's card account is required to vote on property.
The pubic is also invited to give their favorite tree a second chance to win an additional cash prize by voting online on Boyd Gaming's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Dec. 15. The social media contest will award an additional prize pool of $5,000 to southern Nevada's top three performing charities with a $2,500 first-place prize, $1,500 second-place prize and $1,000 third-place prize.

While people of all ages are welcome to view the Trees of Hope displays, guests must be 21 or older to cast a vote. Additionally, guests must have an active B Connected or C.A.N. Club card account to cast a vote on property. Membership is free and available at the Player's Club. Voting opens at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Swipe at any kiosk daily at participating destinations to cast your vote. Voting is limited to one vote per account, per property, per day during the contest.
The public is invited to follow the event and support their favorite charity on social media using the hashtag #TreesofHopeLV.
