Team Norfolk Boxing is Back!

NORFOLK, VA - Norfolk boxing is back! Norfolk Parks & Recreation is excited to announce a new temporary location for the Team Norfolk Boxing Program. Beginning June 1, patrons can visit the Park Place Multi-Services Center, 606 W. 29th Street, for boxing training, classes and programs for youth and adults. Previously located at Harbor Park, Park Place is a temporary and more accessible location for patrons. Plans for a permanent location will be announced in the future.

The boxing program mission is to use amateur boxing to develop positive character, self-discipline and model behavior. Team Norfolk boxers are also required to pursue academic excellence.

Program hours are Monday through Friday, noon - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Beginning boxing classes are at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Team Norfolk Boxing practice is at 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Future programming will include warrior fitness, low impact cardio classes, therapeutic recreation classes and more.

The Team Norfolk Boxing program is a globally recognized program with two Olympic medalists and two Olympic coaches: Gold Medalist Pernell Whitaker, 1984; Silver Medalist Keyshawn Davis, 2020; USA Boxing National Coach Daniel Campbell, 2008; Olympic Assistant Coach Gloria Peek, 2012.

Team Norfolk Boxing is a USA Boxing sanctioned amateur program. USA Boxing is the national governing body for Olympic-style amateur boxing in the United States. Coaches must be certified by USA Boxing, Safe Sport certified, and background checked before they can train any boxers.
