UF/IFAS Extension Offers Homebuyer Classes

If you are looking to purchase a home, consider participating in the First-time Homebuyer Program. The UF/IFAS Extension Volusia County offers pre-purchase homebuyer workshops that meet HUD education requirements for those participating in the program through Microsoft Teams.

English language classes will be conducted at:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17 (Session 1) and 24 (Session 2)
  • 5 to 9 p.m. June 6 (Session 1) and 13 (Session 2)

Spanish language classes will be conducted at:

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 23 (Sessions 1 and 2)
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 20 (Session 1) and 27 (Session 2)

The classes contain eight hours of education, split between two sessions. Participants who complete both sessions will receive a certificate of completion that will enable them to apply for a federal down payment and closing cost assistance program available through Volusia County, Seminole County, and the City of Deltona. The cost is $10 per household and scholarships are available upon request.
