The celebration of the 55th Anniversary of ASEAN

On 10 August 2022, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy, in the capacity of the current Chair of ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) hosted a reception in celebration of the 55th Anniversary of ASEAN (8 August 2022) at the Ambassador's residence. The event was attended by ASEAN Embassies and diplomatic missions of dialogue partners of ASEAN in Italy as well as ACR's partners in Italy.

On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador of Thailand delivered her remarks with a focus on issues concerning ASEAN unity and solidarity in addressing challenges, cooperation with Italy as ASEAN's Development Partner, ACR's planned activities during Thailand's chairmanship, closer cooperation with Italy on sustainable development in the capacity of ASEAN Coordinator on Sustainable Development Cooperation as well as ASEAN - EU and dialogue partner relations while H.E. Ms. Alessandra Schiavo, Deputy Director General/Principal Director for the Countries of Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italy delivered her remarks stating the importance of ASEAN in the region, cooperation under the Development Partnership and Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA) between Italy and ASEAN, the role of the Italian civil society in collaboration with ACR in the implementation of the Development Partnership
