San Marcos City Council dedicates trail segment to slain San Marcos resident

The San Marcos City Council recently honored the new "Gratitude Trail" at Discovery Lake as a tribute to Aris Keshishian.

Keshishian was a 20-year-old San Marcos resident killed while walking his dog on Aug. 15, 2021. The tragic loss has touched many people within the community.

"Aris' family lived near Discovery Lake and frequently walked the trail together," said San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones. "The 'Gratitude Trail' brings a healing element to his family and friends and the greater San Marcos community."

In memory of Keshishian, his family and friends wore red to the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following the ceremony, attendees walked the perimeter of Discovery Lake as a tribute.
