Men's Cross Country Wins Bill Libby Invite, Women Place 3rd

ABILENE, TX (10.19.19) - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the regular season Saturday morning at the Billy Libby Invitational, hosted by McMurry University.

The Comet men picked up their second team victory of the season while the UTD women recorded a third-place finish.

On the men's side, UTD placed three runners in the top 10 to claim the team title of the event. The Comets completed the victory with 45 points, 12 points better than second place Austin College (57). Hardin-Simmons finished in third place with 90 points while LeTourneau was fourth place in the 13-team field with 119 points. There were seven teams from the American Southwest Conference in the meet, ran on the same course as the conference championship, set for Nov. 2.

paced the Comets with a fourth place finish, competing the eight-kilometer course in a time of 27:02. was close behind, placing fifth at 27:04. placed 10th for the Comets with a time of 27:28, 11th at 27:38 and 15th at 27:58.

For the women, was the Comets' top finisher in the six-kilometer race, placing fourth with a time of 24:10. placed eighth with a time of 24:28, 16th at 25:13, Gina Fosssati 18th at 25:24 and 29th at 26:01.

As a team, the Comet women finished with 68 points, just 10 points behind team champion Hardin-Simmons (58). Trinity placed second with 65 points.
