SCO observers begin reviewing their observation of the election to the 7th Jogorku Kenesh (parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic

International observers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, led by Head of Mission, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Yerik Ashimov, inspected polling stations in Bishkek as well as other places in the Kyrgyz Republic on 28 November 2021, the day of election of deputies to the 7th Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.


At the same time, accredited observers of the SCO Secretariat visited polling station No. 9040 at the Kyrgyz Embassy in the People's Republic of China.
The monitoring process included observing the preparation of ballots and ballot boxes as well as interviewing voters, polling station officers, media representatives, public observers and members of foreign observer missions.

They also met with Head of the CIS Mission Vasily Volkov, Coordinator of the group of international observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the CIS Kutbidin Burkhanov, Head of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) mission Boubakar Adamou, and Chair of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan Nurjan Shaildabekova.

International observers noted the high voter activity and the professionally organised electoral process. According to preliminary estimates by the SCO Mission, the voting has been taking place in an atmosphere of openness.
The SCO Mission will announce a Final Statement in Bishkek on 29 November 2021 after reviewing the reports from the SCO international observers.

The SCO Mission operates in the Kyrgyz Republic at the invitation of Kyrgyzstan's Central Commission for Elections and Referenda and in accordance with the 15 May 2006 Regulation on the Observer Mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation for Presidential and/or Parliamentary Elections and Referenda.
