Every day in New York State, 50,000 motorists illegally pass stopped school buses, putting the lives of children at risk.

As part of an ongoing effort to enhance student safety, Orange County has partnered with BusPatrol to modernize school buses with safety technology to curb illegal motorist behavior around school buses. The program will be preceded by a 30-day warning period and education campaign to remind motorists to stop for school buses.

The 30-day warning period will start May 8th, before the program goes live in June.
