SAN ANTONIO (July 5, 2022) - "I hate messages of hate. We are disturbed about the anti-Semitic material distributed around District 9 neighborhoods last week. This is especially concerning as the District 9 Office just attended a symposium on antisemitism at the Barshop Jewish Community Center last month. San Antonio is a compassionate multicultural community that is welcoming of all faiths and peoples.

We have zero-tolerance for radical individuals seeking to sow hate and incite violence. Unfortunately, neighbors have seen similar messaging around our area before.

These agitators are hiding behind the first amendment to bring fear to our Jewish community and transgender individuals. Bigotry and hate-filled messages should gain no traction here. We should refuse to give this fanatical messaging more exposure than it deserves. We are working with local law enforcement and neighborhoods to identify and expose those involved." - District 9 Councilman

Tips on how to combat hate crimes.

The FBI San Antonio Division is launching a multi-faceted advertising campaign to build public awareness of hate crimes, with goals to help the public better understand what constitutes a federal hate crime and to encourage reporting of those crimes to law enforcement.

If you have evidence or more information about this hate crime, please report it to local law enforcement, or the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or online at tips.fbi.gov.
