Resurfacing on Route 28 moving to Owensville

Updated schedule has crews working east toward U.S. Route 50 next week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo- Construction crews resurfacing Missouri Route 28 across Gasconade, Maries, and Osage counties are preparing to move to the next segment: Owensville to Rosebud.

The first segment of work, whichbegan outside of Owensville progressing west to U.S. Route 63,is expected to wrap up this week.The next segmentwill resurface from the city of Owensville east to U.S. Route 50.

Construction crews will beginthe pavement improvements in Owensville on May 6, weather permitting. While within city limits, they will be working nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. As crews progress east, outside the city limits of Owensville, they will transition to daytime hours Monday through Friday.All work is taking place under single-lane closures with a flagger and pilot car directing motorists through the work zone.

All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $6,501,051.64 contract to Capital Paving and Construction for this work and pavement improvements on two other routes (including Gasconade County Route EE), all of which is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 1, 2024.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
