Minister Grlić Radman attends FAC

Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday expressed concern over the developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) where tensions are rising and no agreement on election reforms is in the offing.

"We are particularly concerned over the political developments in BiH. Instead of a key consensus on election reforms being reached, we have an escalation of political disputes and paralysis of institutions," Grlić Radman said in Luxembourg where he arrived to attend a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

The Croatian minister reiterated that the equality of all three constituent peoples is the key to Bosnia and Herzegovina's functioning, stability and journey towards the EU.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) today adopted conclusions on the EUFOR Operation Althea in BiH, reiterating "its unequivocal commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU perspective as a single, united and sovereign country."

"The Council deeply regrets the prolonged political crisis in the country and condemns the blockage of the State institutions," according to the conclusions.

Minister Grlić Radman expressed concern over the recent incidents in Montenegro and on the border between Serbia and Kosovo.

The Foreign Affairs Council met in Luxembourg on Monday to discuss the EU's approach to the Gulf region, the Eastern Neighbourhood and to exchange views on the situation in Ethiopia and Nicaragua.

The current affairs including issues related to Afghanistan, Tunisia, Western Balkans, and Climate Diplomacy were on the agenda.
