CABEI begins official visit to Korea to promote knowledge exchange on innovation, competitiveness and sustainable mobility

Busan, July 5th 2022. - The Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, accompanied by a group of directors and officials, began his official visit to Korea with the objective of strengthening cooperation in the areas of science, sustainable mobility and competitiveness for the benefit of the region.

The agenda began with a meeting with the CEO & President of Busan Port Authority, Kang, Joon-suk, who presented the main characteristics of this site, including being Korea's main port and the sixth largest container port in the world as of 2019.

Subsequently, the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Park Heong-joon, received the Bank's mission and shared a cordial welcome with them. CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, stated that "as a development bank, we are looking for new and better ways of doing things, innovating and working for development by promoting trade and cooperation relations between our partners and the Central American region."

Thereafter, the Secretary General of the Busan World Expo Bidding Committe, Park Jeong-wook, welcomed and introduced the Republic of Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in the port city of Busan with the main objective of making South Korea a bridge to developing countries.

The CABEI delegation, headed by President Mossi, continued the day with a working meeting with the leaders of the Hyundai Motors conglomerate, with whom they visited the production plant and learned about new trends in the future of mobility. They later closed with a visit to the Korean National Railway, where they had the opportunity to learn about the competitive advantages of this sector.

Continuing the work tour, the CABEI delegation will participate in sessions with leaders of chambers of commerce and industry, bilateral meetings with Korean government authorities focused on economic issues, actions to combat climate change and renewable energy changes.
