March 2024 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) Down 1.2% from the Previous Month and Down 1.0% from the Same Month Last Year

The Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI), which is based on the amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry, fell 1.2% in March from February, falling for the first month after a one month increase, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). From March 2023 to March 2024 the index fell 1.0% (Tables 1, 2, and 2A).
