SAN DIEGO - Mayor Todd Gloria and Council President Sean Elo-Rivera issued the following statements on the proposed settlement agreement on litigation over 101 Ash Street and Civic Center Plaza, which will now be delayed to allow for additional public review.

"I requested the consideration of the proposed settlement agreement to be delayed for further review by the City Council and the public," Mayor Todd Gloria said. "While there is still no ideal outcome to this civic debacle, we have heard clearly that the public should be given more time to review the proposed settlement agreement in its entirety - including all accompanying documents and analyses - and so we are granting that request. We intend to move forward in approximately one month's time."

"I appreciate the Mayor's request to expand the opportunity for the public to review all of the information accompanying this important decision," said Council President Sean Elo-Rivera. "I especially encourage the public to dive into the Independent Budget Analyst's consultant review as they seek to weigh the pros and cons of the proposed settlement. As always, improving the public's trust in the City is our first priority, and I hope this additional time can help do so."
