Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia with the Deputy Minister of Information Technologies of Saudi Arabia

On April 17, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Information Technologies Ahmad Al-Sayan. The meeting took place within the framework of the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan to Saudi Arabia.

The interlocutors thoroughly discussed the possibilities and development prospects of cooperation in the field of information technologies between Armenia and Saudi Arabia. Noting that the two countries "speak the same language" in this field and share the same priorities, the interlocutors outlined the main directions of cooperation and agreed to promote the development of relations between the relevant institutions.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia presented to the interlocutor the vision of the development of the IT sector, which is a priority for the Government of Armenia, and the successes recorded so far, emphasizing the significant share of the sector in the overall economy. Vahan Kostanyan presented to the interlocutor the high indicators of women's involvement in the development of the sector, as well as the attention paid to innovative solutions in education, referring to the opportunities provided by the activity of the "TUMO" creative center in this context.

Taking into account the success of the Saudi side in the direction of the implementation of digital government and artificial intelligence, the interlocutors agreed to exchange experience and promote ties between leading companies in the field.
