On September 13, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Wu Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai, attended Minmetals High-end Forum on Industrial Finance held in Shanghai and inaugurated Minmetals Industrial Finance Research Institute.

The forum, themed as "Joint Intelligence for Common Growth and Prosperity", aims to explore the way that finance is applied to promote China's industrial transformation and upgrading, and to strengthen China's influence in global industry, supply and innovation chains. Many elites from different fields were invited to deliver keynote speeches, including Ge Honglin, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC, and Secretary General & President of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Tu Guangshao, Member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Executive Director of the SAIF Board, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Wang Zhongmin, President of Shenzhen Financial Stability and Development Institute. Meanwhile, Minmetals Industrial Finance Research Institute, as a platform-type enterprise think tank established by Minmetals Capital Co., Ltd., also released the latest research achievements - the White Paper on Industrial Finance and the Chinese plate index of Minmetals Securities.

Before the forum started, Weng Zuliang met with Wu Qing, guest speakers, and officials who attended the forum including Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Yang Chao, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Pudong New Area Committee and Deputy Head of Pudong New Area, Zhang Hong, Director of Pudong New Area Financial Services Bureau, and Xiao Jian, Head of the Lujiazui Bureau of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration.

Zhu Kebing, Vice President and Party Group Member of China Minmetals, addressed that the high-end forum aimed to fulfill the requirement of "Finance Serves Real Economy", produce constructive research results and opinions, and facilitate cooperation and exchanges between China Minmentals and Yangtze River Delta with Shanghai being the center and even the rest of the world.

Authoritative experts and industry representatives from academia and industry circles gave their opinions and suggestions on topics of improving the competitiveness of the primary product industry chain, enhancing the competitiveness of the technological innovation chain of mining operations, and building a supply chain finance (SCF) ecosystem.
