Cuba/Mexico, November 26, 2021 - Following Cuba's decision to reopen borders to international tourism, Viva Aerobus resumed its nonstop services from Cancun to Havana, Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba; and started its new route Mexico City - Havana with a daily flight.

Cancun-Havana will offer five weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sun); Cancun - Camagüey two flights per week (Tue and Thu), and Cancun - Santiago de Cuba one weekly flight (Tuesdays).

Viva Aerobus is fully committed to passengers' health through its compressive program Viva Contigo, which includes a series of disciplined prevention and hygiene protocols such as additional disinfection processes in aircraft, luggage and common areas; safe distance guidelines; mandatory use of facemasks, among many other actions. Moreover, flights will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft, being the youngest fleet in Mexico with 4.6 years average-age and advanced technology. These aircraft are equipped with HEPA filters (High Efficiency Particulate Air) which eliminate more than 99.99% of fungi, bacteria and viruses -including COVID-19- and every 3 minutes they completely the air in the cabin.

"Resuming our flights adds great value to Cuba's purpose of recovering its economy based on safe and responsible tourism. Our low fares allow travelers to save on their transport, thus they have more resources to enjoy the island. They can extend their stay, travel more frequently or carry out more recreational and cultural activities in benefit of local economic spill and the thousands of families that depend on tourism", explained Walfred Castro, Communication Director of Viva Aerobus.

Viva Aerobus landed in Cuba for the first time in 2018 with the inauguration of Cancun - Camagüey service, being the only airline offering this route. Now, added to its regular routes, the airline operates charter flights in alliance with tour operators.

Viva Aerobus invites all its passengers to review current health requirements issued by the Cuban government to enter the country available at https://www.mintur.gob.cu/protocolos/
