Czech Caucus Co-Chairs Meet with Prime Minister Petr Fiala

WASHINGTON, D.C.- U.S. Representatives and Co-Chairs of the Congressional Czech Caucus, Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL) and Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), released the following statement after meeting with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and paid tribute to the bust of Vaclav Havel in the U.S. Capitol:
"As co-chairs of the Congressional Czech Republic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, we were honored to welcome the Prime Minister, Petr Fiala of the Czech Republic, to the U.S. Capitol and had the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual national security interests and shared objectives. The Czech Republic and the United States share a strong commitment to democratic values,self-determination, and territorial integrity. In today's global landscape, the Czech Republic's steadfast support for Ukraine's sovereignty is crucial in the face of Russian aggression. Similarly, their recognition of Taiwan's strategic importance in maintaining stability across the Indo-Pacific region underscores their commitment to regional security. Drawing from their own history as a former Communist state, they understand the importance of the respect of human rights and the promotion of democracy, and their unwavering support extends beyond Europe's borders, reaching into the most repressive corners of the world. We look forward to continuing to strengthen diplomatic ties while collaborating to advance the cause of freedom and resilience against common adversaries."
