Manchin, Capito Announce $1.6 Million in NSF Funding for WVU

Washington, DC - U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,625,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support two projects at West Virginia University (WVU). Specifically, this funding will support projects that work to advance knowledge in the field of chemical synthesis and study how the nervous system integrates sensory-motor information.

"The National Science Foundation continues to be a strong partner for West Virginia through research and educational opportunities that benefit our students and communities. I am pleased NSF is investing in these critical scientific research projects at WVU, and I look forward to seeing their positive impacts,"Senator Manchin said. "As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding to support scientific research and educational opportunities across the Mountain State."
