Presented in partnership with Champagne Pommery, the 18th Annual Champagne Chair Contest has come to an end and Design Within Reach is proud to announce the winners.

This year contest participants were challenged to create miniature chairs of either an iconic, recognizable design or an original creation using only the foil, label, cage, and cork from no more than two champagne bottles. The winners in each category were, selected by an esteemed group of Office Hours speakers. Office Hours, a socially-engaged initiative dedicated to championing BIPOC design practitioners, was this year's charitable organization. The panel of judges included ELLE Decor Editor in Chief Asad Syrkett, Architect Jacqueline Shaw, Architect Tei Carpenter, Apple Design Researcher Alyse Archer-Coité, and Graphic Designer Alex Lin.

The winners they selected are as follows: Danielle Levinson's original design entitled "Rock Stacking Throne" for Most Original, Irina Wang's rendition of the Crosshatch Chair for Best Likeness, and Rob Metzgar's "Pommery Chair" for the Pommery Prize. Runner-ups include Janice Nicol's original design entitled "Mimosa on Rattan" for Most Original, and Summer Whitney's rendition of the Eames Rocking Chair Shell for Best Likeness.

A notable mention goes to all who participated, as Herman Miller Cares donated to Office Hours with each valid entry, and raised a total of $25,000 for the organization.
