Heather Holzinger Hired as City Treasurer

April 30, 2024 - The City of Midland is pleased to announce that Heather Holzinger has been promoted to the role of city treasurer effective May 1. The announcement comes with the retirement of current City Treasurer Dana Strayer April 30.

Holzinger began her career with the City in 2007 as an account clerk with the Water department and was later promoted to account supervisor in 2012 and budget analyst in 2017. In addition to her work at the City, she brings financial management experience from previous roles with Rehman Robson, Midland Area Homes, and the County of Midland. Holzinger holds both associate's and bachelor's degrees in accounting from Davenport University and is a member of the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association. She recently completed her first year of the three-year Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer program through Michigan State University Extension. She received the City of Midland City Strive Award for Teamwork in June 2023.

"Heather brings both a wide breadth of finance experience and deep institutional knowledge to her new role," said City Manager Brad Kaye. "She has been repeatedly recognized for her outstanding work ethic and dedication to the City and its residents and we look forward to seeing her impact as city treasurer."
