Statement from New York City Corporation Counsel Hinds-Radix on the U.S. Supreme Court's Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade

The Supreme Court has yet again issued a decision that moves our country in the wrong direction. This unfortunate ruling overturns half a century of legal precedent that allowed women to make critical decisions about their own health. The dissenting opinions capture the sentiment of what is behind this decision. The Court's longstanding guiding principle of following legal precedent was set aside to achieve political ends. The Court has erased a fundamental human right, running counter to New York City's values and principles. We'll use every legal tool to protect women and safeguard their rights under the law.
