Jakarta, 18/06/2021 MoF - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has established the Kominfo Digital Economy Forum to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to bounce back from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This forum was attended by 11 digital operators who agreed to host Indonesian MSMEs in their own country.

'The digital space, it is estimated that the potential for online trading can be bigger than before. Given the reach that penetrates regional boundaries, it can even reach other countries,' said Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate at the Peak event of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) as quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat (Setkab) website.

The government currently also has 348,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable length, 9 satellites as a telecommunications network and has built 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) so that communication networks can be accessed in various areas.

Kominfo is also committed to conducting digital training for all MSME actors by cooperating with a number of digital platform owners so that MSME actors in various parts of the country can carry out online trading activities optimally in the future. (Setkab/nr/ip)
