FBI Media Alert: FBI, Albuquerque Police Seek 'Shop and Rob Bandit' After Bank Robbery

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify the "Shop and Rob Bandit," who is responsible for a bank robbery on Friday, May 20, 2022.

At approximately 11:13 a.m., an unknown male entered First Convenience Bank, located inside the Walmart Supercenter at 2266 Wyoming Boulevard NE. The suspect handed a demand note to a teller. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and left the bank heading north on foot.

Suspect's Description:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Black
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Build: Thin
  • Clothing: Dark blue flat cap, eyeglasses, dark mask over his mouth, purple and white checkered long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, brown shoes.
  • Other: The suspect wore a green pack slung over his chest.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
