PHOENIX - Criminal investigators with the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) are investigating the death of inmate Jeffrey T. Jensen, 37, ADC #242484, as a suspected homicide.
Inmate Jensen died today at St. Joseph's hospital in Phoenix where he had been undergoing treatment for head injuries received during an unwitnessed assault by other inmates on June 15.
Jensen returned to ADC custody in 2014 when he was sentenced out of Maricopa County to three years and nine months for a narcotic drug violation. His assigned housing location was ASPC-Lewis.
All inmate deaths are investigated in consultation with the county medical examiner's office. ADC's Criminal Investigations Unit has uncovered some leads, and the investigation is continuing. However, suspect(s) have not been identified. It is the intent of the Department to pursue prosecution to the fullest extent of any suspect(s) identified in this case.
