Cleveland, OH - This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested D'Lawrence Scott, 19, and Lawrence Scott Jr., 56. D'Lawrence Scott was wanted for aggravated murder by the Akron Police Department and Lawrence Scott Jr. was want for obstruction of justice in reference to the same homicide.

It is alleged that on May 24, D'Lawrence Scott got into a verbal altercation with a female associate at an address near the 1000 block of Biruta Street in Akron. The altercation turned physical, and a 15-year-old male stepped in at the defense of the female. D'Lawrence Scott retreated to a car parked outside the residence and retrieved a firearm. Scott then proceeded back to the residence and shot and killed the 15-year-old male. D'Lawrence Scotts' father, Lawrence Scott Jr. was allegedly the get-away driver after the homicide occurred.

This afternoon, members of the NOVFTF arrested both Scott's in a vehicle near the intersection of E.79th and Kinsman Rd. in Cleveland. Task force members witnessed both males leave a residence on E. 147th Street and followed them to the E. 79th and Kinsman Rd. area where task force members ultimately arrested both males, the younger Scott was found hiding in the backseat of the car.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, "The US Marshals Service has a strong partnership with the Akron Police Department. Today, that strong partnership resulted in the arrest of two dangerous fugitives and hopefully some justice for the 15-year-old victim."
