Justice Dias Toffoli affirmed, this Monday (16), that the transparency achieved by the Brazilian Judiciary has allowed the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to give firm answers in defence of democracy, of the Court itself and of its members. According to him, this principle has acquired special relevance, due to the misinformation and antidemocratic orchestrations registered in Brazil.
Toffoli is representing the STF at the Ibero-American Conference of Constitutional Justice, in the Dominican Republic. This edition discusses the topic "Constitutional Jurisdiction: Citizenship and Freedom".
In his lecture, the STF Justice highlighted, among other topics, the successful experience of TV Justice in bringing the Brazilian people closer to the Judiciary Branch. The law that created the public broadcasting station (Law 10.461/2002) is completing 20 years since its edition, this Tuesday (17). "It is inconceivable in Brazil that important decisions are taken behind closed doors and simply communicated to the country," he said.
