Look for birds and you may find Tom Erdman. The recently retired Richter Museum curator was working with a team to safely trap and secure snowy owls to be examined, fitted with a transmitter and released. The work is part of Project SNOWstorm. Research started in late 2013 to study the habits and assist with conservation of the big, white birds. UW-Green Bay alumnus Tom Prestby is among the snowy trackers. Paul Smith from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentineldescribes the people, the process and the importance.
