Caity Weaver Joins The New York Times Magazine

I'm thrilled to announce that the inimitable Caity Weaver will be joining the Magazine as a staff writer effective immediately. Caity came to The Times in 2018, and has principally worked for Styles since then, writing memorable pieces that answered existential quandaries such as What Is Glitter? and Can We Learn Anything From Horses?, and also anchoring the hilarious Work Friend column.

During that time Caity has also been writing occasionally for the Magazine. Each of her stories has been its own singular delight, starting with her cover story on Maya Rudolph in 2019. That year she also traveled across the country by train for a wonderful, quotable story in the Voyages Issue that serves as a nice reminder of the sociability and open horizons of the pre-pandemic times:
