CITY OF MISSOURI CITY ADOPTS NEW PAY PLANS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES

The City Council of Missouri City convened a special meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at City Hall Council Chambers to address critical matters concerning the city's workforce.

City Council unanimously approved the ordinance and adopted a New Pay plan for all City Employees, including a 5% pay increase for Civil Service employees and a 3% pay increase for Public Safety employees.

The ordinance, spearheaded by Angel L. Jones, City Manager, reflects the city's commitment to maintaining competitive compensation in the job market. The decision to adjust the pay plan was prompted by the findings of a salary study conducted in 2023. Implementing this plan, effective May 5, 2024, is crucial for attracting and retaining top talent, improving employee morale, and enhancing overall workforce performance.

Mayor Robin J. Elackatt and the City Council unanimously supported both measures, emphasizing their dedication to the well-being of Missouri City employees and residents alike.

These decisions underscore Missouri City's proactive approach to fostering a supportive and competitive work environment while prioritizing public safety.

The City Council remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the community and advancing initiatives that promote growth and prosperity.
