Beach Trail Open Between North Beach and El Portal

April 16, 2024… San Clemente, California…. Beach Trail surface repairs have been completed between North Beach and the El Portal beach access. This area is now open for public use.

Please note, the Mariposa Bridge area remains closed after significant slope movement required bridge sections to be removed. Orange County Transportation Authority has performed emergency work in the area to stabilize the slope and restore train service through San Clemente. Long-term solutions for this area will require additional repair and improvements. The timeline for restoring this important Beach Trail connection is unknown.
