Register of Deeds to relocate near Historic Metro Courthouse

The Office of the Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds will relocate in late May to 300 Deaderick Street from its current location inside the Bridgestone Arena at 501 Broadway, according to County Register Karen Johnson.

The new lease was approved unanimously by the Metro Council.

"We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our Mayor, Freddie O'Connell, and his administration for their support," Register Johnson said.

During the transition between offices in June, most services will remain available and uninterrupted. This includes filing and recording of all property documents, liens, and releases; e-recording and remote filing; information services (in person, by phone and email); provision of document and plat copies, and voter registration. All online access to records will be unaffected.

The public area for in-person researching in the new location will be temporarily unavailable as the office space is finished out. The office will provide updates on social media, our website, via email, and through media releases to news outlets and publications.

"As we make this exciting transition, we will maintain seamless service to those who rely on us in Nashville Davidson County," said Register of Deeds Karen Johnson. "We ask for the public's patience as we take steps to provide a place that makes it more convenient to obtain our services.

"With easier access to the Metro Courthouse and enhanced parking, we will be providing a vastly improved experience for Register of Deeds Office customers."

The new Register of Deeds location is just across the street from the Historic Metro Courthouse, where the Register's Office was once located. The new location is convenient for anyone in need of registering property documents.
